... doesn't anyone use synthesizers this way anymore? This is the way they're supposed to be used in rock music; Sweeping pads and arrangements that carries the music. The pinnacle of the symbiosis between analog and digital.

A Link In The Chain - Pete Seeger, 1919-2014
Oh, had I a golden thread
And needle so fine
I'd weave a magic strand
Of rainbow design
Of rainbow design
In it I would weave the bravery
Of women giving birth
In it I would weave the innocence
Of children over all the earth
Children of all earth
Far over the waters
I'd reach my magic band
To every city
Through every single land
Through every land
Show my brothers and my sisters
My rainbow design
Bind up this sorry world
With hand and heart and mind
Hand and heart and mind
Far over the waters
I'd reach my magic band
To every human being
So they would understand
So they'd understand
Oh, If I had a golden thread
And needle so fine
I'd weave a magic strand
Of rainbow design
Of rainbow design...

Out In The Cold
All of a sudden I came to think of this great song with Judas Priest from their magnificent "Priest...Live!" album released in 1987:
It's been a long time since I listened to the album, but it used to be one of my all time favourites, and I had goose bumps every time I played it. Back in the day your world really was the albums and the cassettes you owned, now you "own" every record possible, as they're all available within the reach of a mouse click. But the thing is, when your world was "smaller", the things that were in it were greater. Which probably sums up, compared to then, why the feeling when I listen to this album today isn't even close. It's pretty damn sad actually. We have "everything" now, but do we have more?
Happy New Year!
